Best places to eat when visiting Dublin

  1. Full Irish Breakfast:

Irish breakfast is all about the “fry”, of course Dublin being so diverse now you also get many other breakfast staples but the best “fry” or “full Irish breakfast” in Dublin has to be in “The Corner Note” a cute little cafe in a quaint town called Dalkey in South County Dublin. They get there meat fresh every morning from the award winning butchers just down the road. The sausages are huge but cooked perfectly.

2. Coffee and Scones:

It's a no brainer for a Dubliner when asked where is the place to go for a lovely scone and some hot coffee? The answer will always be The Woolen Mills. A relaxed small eatery in the heart of Dublin’s bustling city. Among other things the Scones here are amazing and widely sought after by locals so make sure you are there early enough before they run out!

3. Fancy brunch?

Yes, I know its a little bit outside Dublin but its well worth the drive. The amazing Pigeon house cafe in Delgany Wicklow is widely known by locals as a must visit when in the area. From the little market on the first floor to the bakery at the front and then award winning restaurant upstairs this is place is foodie heaven for those looking for an indelible experience!

4. Fine Dining in the City

If you weren't looking for it you would miss it when walking down Dublin Cities Nassau Street. “The Pigs Ear” is behind a subtle single pink door beside two mom and pop shops on a main st. Behind the somewhat hidden door is one of Dublin's most sophisticated restaurants. The pigs ear never disappoints and there is a reason why it's in the famous Michelin guide!

5. Pub grub

Ireland is famous for its amazing pub food, given that Irish people spend more of their time in pubs its not a surprise that you find some of the best food being served in the modest establishments. While there are many amazing pub food locations in Dublin, “Johnny Foxes” located up in the hills of county Dublin serves in my opinion the best grub. Maybe its the charming aesthetics the live music or the fresh countryside but the food here is out of this world.

6. Chipper

In England they call it “chip shop” in Scotland they call it “Chippy” but in Dublin we call it “Chipper”. Leo burdocks in Temple bar is widely known as the best chipper in the City but if you're looking for something under the radar a bit in a small seaside town. Bray seafront is home to an amazing local secret. The wives of the fisherman in the bray fishermen's society sell THE BEST fish and chips out of what looks like a small run down shed attached to the fisherman’s society center with a sign that says “seaside fast food” along the top. Now they only open on the weekends and unless you know someone in the society you never know what hours they will open for but trust me its worth risking a visit if you can get your hands on this chipper.
